Hello everyone/Hallo almal -
I am sitting in Starbucks in Leeds, UK typing this to you. I am here for the week visiting my friend Andre Snyman and looking forward to seeing Snys play some rugby this Sunday.
We had a lekker time on safari and I really enjoyed having my sister Ronel and friend, Izzy with us. Having Andre there too was a laugh a minute and we all partied far too much in the bush but boy, did we have a great time. We certainly gave a new meaning to the term "The big five"!
Christmas with my mother-in-law and Brian was, as always, a feast. Nothing like a prawn braai. Once again, too much food and drink.
I had to make a quick 4 day trip back to the USA to see the surgeons with a follow up check up (30 days post surgery). The doctors were happy with the recovery process so far and have started me on a rehab programme where I will be working with a physio therapist to regain strength and mobility/range of motion. As soon as I have regained full range of motion, I can start fooling around in the short game area. It looks like two weeks from now I will be able to start with this and be hopefully playing by the end of the month. But for the most part, I am feeling good and happy with the strength that I am regaining.
We spent New Year in Cardiff, Wales, at the Walkabout bar with Andre and Jac. I really enjoyed Cardiff and it was an impulsive adventure but one we all thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks to Uncle Jack, it was a great way to see in the New Year!
Back to South Africa next week and more time in the sun and at our home there. I am really enjoying my off season but beginning to feel that I want to get back into the "swing" of things soon, but do not want to rush the process.
