Tjaart's strong finish at The Barclays Singapore Open combined with making the cuts at both The Alfred Dunhill and The SA Open put him in a strong enough position on the European Tour order of Merit which pushed him straight through to the Final Stage at the European Tour Q School. This took some unwanted pressure of Tjaart to have to fly straight to 2nd stage which is currently being played in Spain. Another bonus is that it has given Tjaart some time off to recover from his busy playing schedule of late. He's at home in Durban enjoying some 'active' rest before flying to Spain next week to start preparing for his last, and possibly the most important, tournament of 2011.
The Final stage is played over two courses, the Tour and the Stadium, at the PGA Catalunya Resort close to Girona in Northern Spain. It's a six-round event, which will see the top 30 and ties earn their playing privileges for The 2012 European Tour International Schedule. It's going to be a long week and one that requires patience and good course management every day, luckily these are two qualities that Tjaart possesses. He has had a solid past few months and it's fantastic to see that his hard work has paid off and has also created some fantastic opportunities for 2012. He has already locked up his cards for The Asian & Sunshine Tour and has every intention to lock up another card for Europe!
