Updated - 25 April 2007 - Tjaart will tee off in the Henrico County Classic at 12:40 pm ET (6 hours behind South Africa) from the 10th tee and at 7:40 am ET (6 hours behind South Africa)on Friday from the 1st tee. Click on the "Scoring" link above to follow Tjaart, hole for hole, on the internet.
Tjaart received the good news on Monday morning that his newly re-shuffled ranking, after having had a fairly solid finish at the Athens Regional Foundation Classic last week, was good enough to get him into this week's event - the Henrico County Classic in Richmond, Virginia.
At this stage, Tjaart's position in the field for next weeks tournament in Fort Smith, Arkansas is 50/50 and once the entries close on Friday at 6 pm ET, he will have a better idea of how his position in the field looks. The reason for the uncertainty for next week's tournament is due to the fact that the PGA Tour event next week is the Wachovia Championship which is a very popular event with the higher ranked player's on the PGA Tour. Thus forcing the lesser ranked player's out of the PGA Tour event and in turn, they opt to play in the Nationwide Tour event. That then forces the lesser ranked player's on the Nationwide Tour out of the field on the Nationwide Tour.
Tjaart had a beneficial session with his coach yesterday and will prepare for this week's tournament by doing a practice round today with Denis Watson. In Tjaart's previous visits to the Henrico County Open, he has made the Cut on two occasions and missed it on two occasions.
